This class is perfect for anyone looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity. Zumba® Gold-Toning blends the Zumba® party you love at a slower pace with a redefining total body workout using Zumba® Toning Sticks or 1 lb weights to shake up those muscles! Low to moderate intensity strength training exercises are essential to prevent a dramatic reduction in muscle mass, muscle strength, atrophy and sarcopenia (loss of skeletal muscle mass). This workout will help you burn more calories, and engage more muscles, all while putting less stress on your joints. So be sure to bring your Jetti Poles. Walk with @Saborr

Join us for an indoor walk. With indoor walking, you don't need to worry about the weather or traffic, and you can do it anytime from the safety of your own home. Walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Just 30 minutes every day can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance. In this session, you will move in different directions and at various speeds—no equipment is needed. The goal is to get to at least 1 mile or 2,000 steps.

Exercising with lighter weights and higher repetitions can lead to muscular endurance, muscle building, toning, and regaining the muscle mass we lose as we age. UPLIFT with Saborr

Strength training has never been so fun! UPLIFT combines iconic hits from decades past and present with choreographed strength routines. You’ll use weights, bands, and focused balance and mat work for a well-rounded workout. The workout starts with a cardio warm-up and transitions to standing routines with equipment, alternating between upper and lower body. A balance track is included after you’ve fatigued your muscles which is challenging, rewarding, and a welcome change of pace before transitioning to the mat. We complete the workout with routines for the core, booty, abs, and chest and a cool down with deep stretching. This UPLIFTING experience leaves you feeling strong and confident. A variety of equipment is used in UPLIFT to receive the benefits that each offers and keep the class engaging and fun:

3 PAIRS OF DUMBBELLS 1-15 LBS (0.5-7 KG)

Recommended for those new to strength training:

  • Light 1-3 lbs (0.5-1.5 kg) , Medium 3-5 lbs (1.5-2.5 kg), and Heavy 5-8 lbs (2.5-3.5 kg)

OAR's Zumba Gold Party

We are thrilled to invite you to a vibrant and energizing virtual Zumba Gold class hosted by Elizabeth, OAR's Executive Director and certified Zumba Instructor. This low-impact, low-intensity class is perfect for all ages and abilities, featuring verbal and hand cues to guide you through the fun. Whether you're an experienced dancer or just looking for a way to move your body and have fun, this event is for you!

All proceeds from this event will be directed towards OAR of Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church. OAR is a community-based nonprofit organization that envisions a safe & thriving community where those impacted by the legal system enjoy equal civil & human rights. Through our Upstream work, we are confronting & dismantling individual racism & racism in the legal system & across all systems. Our Downstream work allows us to be on the journey with individuals returning from incarceration & their families. We also offer alternative sentencing options (including community service) and diversion programs so people can avoid the trauma of incarceration & instead help the community thrive.
